Family-Friendly Activities in Colorado

Colorado has been dubbed the third most fun state, but any true Coloradan will agree that Colorado takes the number one spot. With 300 days of sunshine and the Rocky Mountains, there are so many fun family-oriented things to do!

There are endless amounts of activities in Colorado, check out a few fun family-friendly events/places to go:

  • Denver Puppet Theater – This kid-friendly theater has been around for more than 20 years and families love it. There are six productions that take place, all centered around the most common fairy and folk tales. Not only does everyone get to enjoy a cute puppet show, but kids also get to create their own puppet for free, which then participates it its own real show.

  • The North Pole: Santa’s Workshop – He sees you when you’re sleeping, he knows when you’re awake… Santa’s Workshop stays open year-around because he and his elves are obviously preparing for Christmas! This theme park is a fun way to always keep you in the holiday spirit, from going on the rides, to taking pictures with Santa, to even watching a magic show.

  • National Stock Show and Rodeo – Yeehaw! Want to feel like a cowboy/cowgirl for the day? Then this stock show and rodeo is definitely for you. This event takes place in January, however, it’s still a fun family event to mark on your calendars. The stock show has more than 15,000 animals to look at, a large petting zoo, world-wide famous bull riders, different horse shows, etc. Count us in for some rodeo fun!

  • Downtown Aquarium – Have you ever had dinner around a 50,000-gallon fish tank? If not, then the Downtown Aquarium is definitely the place to go. This aquarium has hundreds of tropical fish that swim by while you are eating. It’s nearly impossible to not be entertained. There are also divers that feed the fish while you are eating. Try finding Nemo and Dory!

  • Little Man Ice Cream – This isn’t exactly a restaurant, but it definitely hits the sweet spot. Little Man Ice Cream has many different flavors of your choice for ice cream, milkshakes, and floats. Their most popular are salted caramel peanut butter, salted maple pecan, almond fudge, and rocky mountain road. Yum!

  • Lollipop Park - An indoor amusement park for little ones on cold, snowy days.
